Air Premia Appoints New CEO
Air Premia announced a new CEO appointment: Kim, Se Young as new representative director along with Sim, Jooyeop. The appointment will be confirmed after the shareholders meeting, which is scheduled in mid-June 2019. Mr. Kim is expected to bring his 30 years’ experience in the aviation industry to Air Premia to successfully launch its operation in September 2020.
Air Premia completed a lease agreement with ALC for first three aircraft, Boeing 787-9 Dreamliners, scheduled to deliver from July 2020 to November 2020. Air Premia plans to operate ten 787-9 aircraft within five years. Air Premia received Air Carrier License from the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, and Transport on March 6th, 2019. The Air Operator’s Certificate process is expected to start earlier next year and commence operation in September 2020. The airline is based in Incheon International Airport and the main routes will be mid to long-haul such as Ho Chi Minh, Hanoi, Los Angeles, San Jose, Honolulu, and Vancouver.
Biography
Over Mr. Kim’s 30 years at Asiana Airlines, he had served as a Senior Vice President of International Business where he led divisions covering route rights, international affairs, and alliance. Prior to the five years of a successful career in International Business division, Mr. Kim was in charge of international and domestic lines sales departing from Korea. Before joining the team, he took over San Francisco’s sales control and supervised the airport business as a head of the San Francisco branch for four years. Mr. Kim also worked for the strategy team at Asiana Airlines and Kumho Group in his earlier stage after starting his career at Delta Airlines as a sales representative.
