Air Premia announced the first long-term operating lease agreement with Air Lease Corporation for new three Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft powered by Rolls-Royce Trent 1000-TEN engines. 

The first Dreamliner aircraft is scheduled to deliver in July 2020, followed by the second aircraft in September 2020, and the third in November 2020. Air Premia plans to operate ten 787-9 aircraft in five years. Further aircraft delivery schedule is to be confirmed in the second quarter of 2019.

“Air Premia has reached the critical milestone as a startup airline getting ready to launch a commercial flight next year in South Korea. We are pleased to embark on an initial flight operation with a trustworthy partner ALC, where the market presence is strong enough to fully support us to introduce our industry disruptive business model to the Northeast Asia market successfully,” said Dr. Jong Chul Kim, Chief Executive Officer of Air Premia.

Based in Incheon Airport, South Korea, Air Premia focuses on mid to long-haul routes. Air Premia combines low-seat-density strategy, 35-inch economy, and 42-inch premium economy, with high operational efficiency, single fleet and seat configuration, which allows the company to deliver the best-in-class comfortable seats and services at reasonable prices.

The first inauguration is expected to be September 2020 which will be two months later from receiving Air Operator Certificate approval. The long-haul service will be available from 2021 including Los Angeles and San Jose. Air Premia has set Honolulu, Vancouver for its further target destinations.

Air Premia obtained Air Carrier License (ACL) from Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, MOLIT on 6th March 2019. ACL is a certificate for international passenger carrier and international cargo service.
